Thousand Springs State Park, Lemmon Falls in Summer | Southern Idaho Landscape Fine Art Print

from $75.00

Horizontal orientation.

Ritter Island and Lemmon Falls are part of the Thousand Springs State Park system in Gooding County, Idaho. The park and falls are a very popular attraction in the Magic Valley, including the historic Minnie Miller dairy farm, the magnificent Lemmon falls, and even a kayak launch area. Access is seasonal, from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and the grade down to the park is narrow and winding, but well worth visiting. There are tours available of historic dairy buildings, and one can walk to a viewpoint to see numerous springs flowing from the canyon walls. Each September the park hosts the annual Thousand Springs Festival of the Arts, attracting thousands of visitors. One June morning in 2025, I made a photography excursion to the park and found large bushes of purple Loosestrife in full bloom. To get to the spot where I took this photo required some rock-hopping and careful stepping to avoid holes, but I was able to get close enough to one of the purple bushes to include both it and a reflection of Lemmon Falls in the composition. The dawn still showed some color in the sky, and the water was calm and still. The only sound was birds chirping, and all was serene and peaceful.
