"Sunflowers at the Canyon Rim Trail" Print
Images include an optional hand-crafted barn wood frame for a 12×18 canvas print.
The Canyon Rim Trail in Twin Falls Idaho is a popular paved walking and biking trail stretching about 5 miles along the edge of the Snake River Canyon. My wife and I regularly enjoy walking parts of the trail in the evenings. On the evening that I took this photo, we enjoyed a magnificent sunset to the west. We stopped to take photos all along the trail but were so focused on the setting sun in the west that we almost missed the views to the east. As the sun settled behind the horizon, we passed a small patch of wild sunflowers growing along the trail, reaching in and around the trail fence. They grabbed my attention as several bikers and walkers rushed by seeming not to even notice the flowers so common to the area. The purples, reds, and oranges in the eastern sky were much more muted than the fiery, bright, energetic colors of the sun to the west, but the cooler colors set a calm, peaceful tone for the evening. These glorious colors created a perfect backdrop for the Perrine Bridge in the distance, and the sunflowers in the foreground. This moment in time is now a permanent object, holding the experience enduringly.
