"Soldier Mountains Reflection" Print
Images show an optional hand-crafted barn wood frame for a 12×18 canvas print.
The Camas Prairie and Soldier Mountains near Fairfield Idaho attract tourists and photographers throughout the end of May and early June, who travel to see the splendor of the blooming Camas Lilies at Centennial Marsh. This scene along the highway is perhaps nearly always overlooked, as people approach the turnoff to the Centennial Marsh. It is after all, likely just an irrigation runoff pond among the fields and pastures of Fairfield. However, at just after 6:00am, as the sunrise colors fade into a soft morning glow, the mountains and vegetation create a striking mirror-like relflection on the still, calm water. The dew has formed droplets on the blades of grass, and the cat-tail stalks glow warmly in the sunlight. This scene was just too peaceful to pass by without capturing the beauty of the morning light. As the sun gets higher in the sky, and the day wears on, the scene is likely much less impressive, but at this moment in time, the warm glow and brilliant reflections were worth pulling off the highway for a few minutes to capture some of the grandeur of the scene.
