Rustic Wooden Fence | Southern Idaho Landscape Fine Art Print
Horizontal orientation.
At the base of the Picabo Hills in Southern Idaho lies the Silver Creek Preserve, a conservation area well known for fly fishing, but also for its abundance of birds and other wildlife. Through the efforts of conservation groups and individuals, this area preserves the beauty of a spring-fed creek, as well as surrounding historical buildings and fences. After spending a foggy morning hiking along the creek, enjoying sunbreaks through the low clouds that engulfed the distant hills, I approached the access roadway where I spent a very peaceful hour capturing images of the late autumn golden grasses, rustic fences, and spent yellow blooms on the brush, with all of their rustic charm. The rusted gate hinges and bolts, and weathered wood evoked in me a feeling of nostalgia and appreciation for the pioneer lifestyle of the early farmers in the region. The muted sunlight through the overcast skies cast a soft glow that brought out the yellow and sepia tones so common in vintage scenes, making this one of my favorite images from this visit.
