Each day I drive down this street to work, passing a little horse pasture and charming country homes. As the fall leaves began to turn last year, I thought to myself every day for several weeks that I needed to stop and take a few photos of the bright colors, but I never did. This year we had a few rainy fall days, and the colors were so much more intensified than normal. I put on some grubby clothes and took a little walk down the street, getting down on my belly a few times to get the perspective that I wanted. This low view captured the fiery oranges and reds of the bushes near the mailboxes, as well as the gold leaves on the ground and turning leaves on the distant trees. I think that hundreds of cars pass by each day, without people noticing or appreciating the beauty of the leaves and countryside, and I wanted to capture this moment permanently.
