This fall I have been particularly watchful for fall colors in surrounding neighborhoods, noticing that many of the homes and churches have astounding broadleaf trees full of color. We had a couple of rainy days this month that accentuated the colors of the leaves even more, and one rainy Sunday evening I drove over to the parking lot of a church building where I had seen some fantastic colors earlier. I set up my tripod and camera just a few inches from the ground so that I could capture the fallen leaves close up, as well as some bright red vines on the fence, and the gold and orange leaves in the trees overhead. I took a few different focal lengths in order to combine images to keep more of the scene in focus. The wet leaves were bold with color and contrasted sharply and beautifully with the green shrubs and distant trees.
