Perrine Bridge 9/11 Memorial with Rabbit Brush | Southern Idaho Landscape Fine Art Print

from $75.00

Horizontal orientation.

On September 11th each year, a special volunteer committee with the assistance of the Twin Falls Police and Fire Departments hold a commemorative event and display an enormous US flag hung across the canyon near the Perrine Bridge. The event honors those who volunteered in rescue efforts, and those who passed away in the attack. The view of the bridge over the Snake River canyon is already spectacular on any given day, but the view of the flag flying is such an inspiration. On the morning after 9/11, I drove down toward Centennial Park before I had to be at work and hiked up the cliffs to one of my favorite points overlooking the river to get some photos of the magnificent flag display. The water was calmer than usual and mirrored beautifully the bridge and flag. I took several shots before the sun crested the canyon wall, but this one is one of my favorites, as I was able to capture some of the bright gold and yellows of the fall Rabbit Brush blooms in the foreground. These colors accented the orange and yellow hues behind the bridge as the sun began to light the sky.
