Misty Wintertime Cascade | Southern Idaho Landscape Fine Art Print
Vertical orientation.
This gorgeous multi-tiered waterfall is a close-up view of a small part of Upper Salmon Falls in Hagerman. It is an area with half a dozen different waterfalls, some small and some rather large and spectacular. The location is a favorite of mine to photograph. It is beautiful during every season of the year, and I have enjoyed capturing snow falling there in wintertime, and summer sunrises as well, but this January morning was unique because an inversion had created some foggy and misty conditions. Some of the falls in this area are easy to access, but this one requires either wading in the water or jumping across a rather deep crevice to get to an island section that allows this view of the falls. I wanted to capture this side section of the magnificent waterfall because there are so many tiered levels, and the water falls more peacefully to the side of the main falls. It is not really possible to get very close, due to the steep canyon walls, but from a little distance, I was able to zoom in to capture this view. Of the images I took on this foggy excursion, this is one of my favorites, and of those I posted on social media, this received the most reactions.
