McAllister Park Sunrise | Western Washington Landscape Fine Art Print

from $75.00

Horizontal orientation.

The McAllister Grove Community Park in Lacey Washington was a favorite location of mine to shoot while I lived there and was learning the ins and outs of photography. I passed by the park daily on my way to work, and very often at dawn I would see a low fog rolling across the park and among the Garry Oak trees. I visited the park more than a dozen times to try to capture some of the beauty of the fog and magnificent trees. One morning as I was out walking in the park, the sunrise began to show pink and magenta, as well as the usual yellow and orange. It is quite rare to see much color in the sky throughout much of the year there, other than gray and overcast, but for a couple of summer months, the skies are clearer. The Garry Oaks are beautiful trees and caught my attention even after passing by them daily for over 15 years. My goal was to capture their beauty in a photograph, with the mist and fog that often surrounded them at dawn. This is perhaps my favorite image from this location, after taking pictures there for several years.
