Lemmon Falls in Winter
Horizontal orientation. Canvas prints are available with optional barnwood or hardwood floating frames hand-crafted by the photographer, making a truly unique and one-of-a-kind piece of art. Please see images for details.
Lemmon Falls is located at the Ritter Island portion of Thousand Springs State Park. This section near Hagerman includes a historic dairy farm operated by Minnie Miller in the early 1900s. Most views of the falls are from directly in front, which is nice as well, but I loved this view from the road as I was driving down the grade. I decided to visit all five sections of the state park on December 28, while we were out of school. By the time I reached the Ritter Island section, it was drizzling rain and quite cold. It was perfect for photography however, as the colors were rich, and the steam rising from the waterfalls was beautiful. This view captures a portion of the Snake River in the distance, as well as the brush around the falls, and of course the falls. Although I was rather wet and cold by that afternoon, I felt like this was a unique view of the falls that showcased its beauty even in winter time.
