Idaho Falls Temple in November

from $75.00

Horizontal orientation. Canvas prints are available with optional barnwood or hardwood floating frames hand-crafted by the photographer, making a truly unique and one-of-a-kind piece of art. Please see images for details.

The temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are built to the highest standards of architecture and construction and is each a beautiful work of art. They are one of my favorite photography subjects because they are lighted beautifully at night, and are magnificent at sunrise, sunset, or even at midday. The Idaho Falls Temple is situated along the Snake River, visible from many places on the riverfront park. In late November 2024, we drove to Idaho Falls for my wife to get together with her sister to do some “Black Friday” shopping. I have little interest in shopping, so instead I took my camera out early and strolled along the riverfront park for several hours taking photos. The temperatures were in the low teens, and many of the smaller waterfalls had partially frozen. I took some photos from the Broadway bridge and then found this little spot along the rocky shoreline where some of the frozen water cascades were in the foreground. The main Falls are prominent in the mid-ground, and the temple is the focal point in the background. The white walls reflected the sunlight, making it the brightest element in the image.
