Harvest Sunset
Horizontal orientation. Canvas prints are available with optional barnwood or hardwood floating frames hand-crafted by the photographer, making a truly unique and one-of-a-kind piece of art. Please see images for details.
This mid-August sunset image was captured on a rather smoky evening that gave a reddish gold haze to the sky. I was out driving around the farm community of Iona, northeast of Idaho Falls, and had been studying recently about wide-angle lens photography. Some tips I had read suggested getting closer to foreground objects, and lower to the ground. This image was shot at 10mm on a crop-sensor camera, and the effect made the straw field appear enormous, and the foothills in the background rather small and distant. It is one of my favorite farm photos, as it evokes a feeling of peaceful calm stretching on and on out to the horizon.
