Frozen Giant Eagle Waterfall Nest Traffic Circle | Southeast Idaho Landscape Fine Art Print

from $75.00

Horizontal orientation.

A popular attraction in West Idaho Falls, this giant eagle waterfall nest sculpture is the centerpiece of a traffic circle on Utah Avenue. My wife and I stayed with family in Idaho Falls for Thanksgiving one year, and some were planning to do some Black Friday shopping the next morning. I was happy to skip the shopping and go our shooting along the greenbelt. It was quite a bit colder than we were used to that morning, and as I passed by this traffic circle, I was astounded by the completely frozen water feature. The sun was still rising, and I parked across the street to get some shots of the sculpture. The traffic was slow but still challenging to work around with my tripod and gear. Sometimes I thought I had a perfect angle and then had to move everything as a car came through the traffic circle. I did get a few great shots, and some very numb fingers! With a very low angle, I was able to find a view that excluded the streetlights and other distractions, and this is one of my favorites from that morning. The sculpture is fantastic and is a popular one to photograph. Mine is likely not the best shot, but I am quite happy with it!
