Fall of 2025 was exceptionally beautiful and long lasting, with leaves reaching peak color several weeks apart. In the first week of November, I set out to photograph a beautiful area along the Snake River near Niagara Springs State Park and Wildlife Management Area. Trees line the river here, making it difficult to get to the riverbank, but it can be worth the effort climbing through the thorny brambles and think brush to get a view of the river. I found a spot along the shoreline where there were some rocks near enough to one another that I could hop from one to another to get to an ideal vantage point. The sun was just high enough to cast a golden glow on the fully turned leaves on the trees, and to create a fantastic reflection on the calm water. Everywhere I explored was so beautiful that I was thrilled to be out, but this image well represents the awe-inspiring wonder of the scenery.
