Deadline Ridge Sunrise | Southern Idaho Landscape Fine Art Print

from $75.00

Horizontal orientation. Images include an optional hand-crafted barn wood frame for a 12×18 canvas print.

The first weekend of October in Idaho’s South Hills this year was rainy and rather cold, and although I was able to capture some beautiful images, I lost several due to rain on my lens. I was eager to get up there again but had to wait two weeks, and by then many of the leaves had fallen. However, as I drove along the Deadline Ridge area, I found a few protected Aspen groves and other magnificent fall colors. As I was driving and scouting out the area the sun was rising, and as it did so it cast a beautiful glow across the distant mountain ranges and the closer hillsides as well. It lit up a few remaining patches of Aspens, which contrasted beautifully with the evergreens. The gold and orange shades in the sunrise complemented the foliage perfectly, and even the snow-capped peaks in the far distance were visible as the sun cast its light across the landscape. The view was breath-taking, and one can’t help but feel small against such an enormous backdrop! This image takes me back each time I see it, bringing back the wonder of the rising sun and far-reaching scene that morning.
