Centennial Waterfront Park in Twin Falls is located on Canyon Springs Road, which winds down into the Snake River canyon near the Perrine Bridge. The park is one of the most popular in Twin Falls, and has kayak rentals, pavilions, a pond, boat launch, and riverfront access. One of the park trails leads to the base of some sheer cliffs with a few rocks along the bottom. They are covered in water when the river runs fully in the spring, but as the water levels decrease the rocks are accessible, and one can walk on them along the shoreline. One morning in June 2026, I saw that the weather report indicated some clouds, which generally makes for a more picturesque sunrise. I arrived before the park opened, so I parked near the gate and hiked to the cliff tops for some sunrise photos. The water was calm and reflected the surroundings like a mirror. The clouds were a mild purple color as it first started to get light, and the view wasn’t very astounding. I hiked down to the base of the cliffs and set up my camera on the rocks below and took a few photos. The colors got progressively stronger, and for about 10 minutes right around 6:00am, they were fiery bright! This is one of my favorites.
