Box Canyon Waterfall in Early Spring

from $75.00

Horizontal orientation. Canvas prints are available with optional barnwood or hardwood floating frames hand-crafted by the photographer, making a truly unique and one-of-a-kind piece of art. Please see images for details.

This magnificent waterfall along Box Canyon is a real gem! The water flows straight from a natural spring about a half mile before the falls, and the water has a strong blue hue as it flows through the canyon. The hue matched the blue of the sky on that March morning, as the sun was just beginning to crest the top of the canyon wall. The trail passes close by the top of the falls, and then drops down steeply beside them, so one can get up close and personal! On a bright clear day, it is difficult to see the color, but as the sun was just beginning to light the valley on the morning that I took this image, the colors were quite striking. The vegetation in the canyon was just beginning to green up for the spring, and although some of the scene was still shaded, the sun lit the surface of the water beautifully.
