This magnificent creek in Box Canyon is quite spectacular! The water flows straight from a natural spring not quite a half mile upstream from this point, and the water has a strong blue hue as it flows through the canyon. The blue hue matched the blue in the sky on that March morning, and the yellow, orange, and red colors of the sunrise reflected on the surface of the rushing water and rising steam as the sun was just beginning to rise. There really isn’t a trail along the creek, and in the summer the foliage is thick and difficult to find a way through. In fact, there are very few places that one can get near the water anywhere between the regular trail and the spring source. I had tried previously to make my way through the thick brush later in the year, but it was a little easier in late March. I scrambled over the rocks and through the brush, making it all the way back to the spring, and enjoying the sunrise colors that morning. I was able to get a few images along the way, and in this one I was able to capture the sunrise as well as the steam rising from the rushing water.
