The fall of 2025 was exceptionally beautiful and lasting, with leaves reaching peak color several weeks apart. In the first week of November, I set out to photograph a beautiful area along the Snake River near Crystal Springs and the Niagara Springs Wildlife Management Area. Trees and brush line the river here, making it difficult to get to the riverbank, but it is worth climbing through thorny brambles and thick brush to capture the beautiful river. I found a spot along the shoreline where the brush was low enough to see over to get an ideal vantage point, and where I could get some brightly colored orange leaves in the foreground. The river here is filled with little islands and rocks with brush growing, and it is a magnificent sight during any season of the year. The distant canyon walls were subdued in hazy atmosphere, but the multicolored trees lining the river stood out in contrast. This view draws in my attention every time I see it, and inspired me to take an image that would preserve this forever.
