Horizontal orientation.
The first weekend of October in Idaho’s South Hills this year was rainy and rather cold, and although I was able to capture some beautiful images, I lost several due to rain on my lens. I was eager to get up there again but had to wait two weeks, and by then many of the leaves had fallen. However, I found a few protected Aspen groves, and the rising sun was cooperative for a change! I captured this photo while walking along a dirt road after noticing the sunlight filtering through the golden leaves and slender Aspen trunks. I took several shots so that I could combine exposures to keep the high dynamic range of light under control. I was excited that the final image came out exactly as I saw the scene, which doesn’t often happen for me!
