"Idaho Bluebells at Lake Cleveland" Print
Images include an optional hand-crafted barn wood frame for a 12×18 canvas print.
In early June I had seen some images of wildflowers near Lake Cleveland and Mount Harrison, and had made this drive with great anticipation, only to find that the road was still closed due to snow. Even though I was able to walk in, the flowers were not yet in bloom. After a few weeks I decided to try again and resolved to be at the lake for the sunrise. I arrived at the lake in perfect time to see the sun cresting the horizon and lighting up the lake. The shoreline sunrise view was gorgeous, but as it began to be light enough, I could see that there were wildflowers blanketing the entire lakeside! I found a creek that fed into the lake and followed it up the mountainside. Flowers of all kinds covered the mountainside. Most were familiar to me, but I had never seen so many flowers in one place in my lifetime. Idaho Bluebells grew all along the creekside, and when I found these, I set up my camera with them in the foreground, adjusting the tripod height until I could view the creek and lake in the midground, all lit up by the fantastic sunrise colors. A sense of awe and amazement came over me, as well as excitement and anticipation of capturing a few good images of the wondrous beauty of that amazing morning.
