"Alice-Toxaway Loop Waterfall" 11x14 fine art paper print framed in a hand crafted barn wood frame

from $75.00

This print, framed in a natural barn wood frame with only a simple white stain finish created by the photographer, is truly unique and one-of-a-kind. An additional image shows the framed print hung on a wall with other furniture, to give a sense of size and scale of the finished artwork. Available also as a print only without frame, in three optional sizes and materials.

The popular Alice-Toxaway Loop trail in the Sawtooth Mountains leads from one magnificent scene to another throughout its 20-mile length. Besides the 6 or 7 beautiful lakes along the way, there are numerous stream and river crossings, and dozens of fantastic waterfalls. Most are not named, and the one featured in this image is along a river that cascades down the mountainside with likely a hundred or more falls that are photo-worthy! The mountainside is steep, and all along the trail one can hear the constant sound of rushing water. I stepped off the trail more than 50 times on this trip for photos, adding 2 additional miles to the trail length! The trail is typically done as a multi-day trip, and I might have enjoyed the extra time that would have given me, but I also enjoyed being free of a heavy pack, and able to scramble over the rocks and around the waterfalls with ease. Either way, it is a fantastic experience! I especially loved this waterfall because it was not simply a drop, but a gentle long cascading fall stretching for at least 50 yards. It carried energy, but in a gentle calming way. I took hundreds of photos that day, and this remains one of my favorites.
