"Buhl Barn" 12x18 canvas print framed in a hand crafted barn wood frame
This print, framed in a natural barn wood frame with a simple white stain finish created by the photographer, is truly unique and one-of-a-kind. An additional image shows the framed print hung on a wall with other furniture, to give a sense of size and scale of the finished artwork. Available also as a print only without frame, in three optional sizes and materials.
This fantastic old barn is located just off of highway 30 on the way from Twin Falls to Buhl. The sun on that July morning came up much faster than expected, and it was very bright already by 6:30am. However, the shadows cast by the tall nearby trees stretched out long across the pasture, and the light fell beautifully on the whole scene. The barn sits back quite a ways from the road, and the pasture is fenced, so I set up my tripod on the edge of the roadway, and used my long lens to get a little closer view. The stone foundation caught my eye right away, but I also liked the character of the worn roof and the accents painted in red. About a year after I took this photo, the owners put on a new roof, and have begun selling sheds which surround the barn on the street side, so a current photo would not have near the same charm. Things change, and sometimes it is nice to be able to capture an image that will remain forever, retaining a memory of a beautiful moment that will not remain.
