One of the more popular attractions in southern Idaho, near the summit of Mount Harrison in the Albion Mountain range, is Lake Cleveland. The first time I went to explore the area, I was too early in the season and the roads were closed. I was able to walk in, but the snow still covered much of the area, and there were few wildflowers. I made a second trip in mid-July, and the wildflowers were spectacular! I managed to get some sunrise pictures on the lake and then hiked up alongside the creek that feeds the lake. The flowers were more numerous than I had ever seen in one area, and everywhere I turned seemed like it was photo-worthy. This image above the lake captures several of the wildflowers, including Indian Paintbrush, and Penstemon. The sun cresting the treetops cast rays across the skies as well as the flowers, spreading a golden glow over the entire scene. This is one of my favorite images from this trip and brings me joy each time I see it.
