"Sawtooth Lake Granite Shoreline" 12x18 metal print

from $75.00

This 12×18 metal print is available in three optional sizes and materials.

The magnificent Sawtooth Mountains in central Idaho are popular for photography, as well as hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities. The hike to Sawtooth Lake is phenomenal, and along the way is a beautiful little mountain lake called Alpine Lake. I stopped there for a few hours and shot several images of the mountain peaks reflecting in the lake. When I got back on the trail to Sawtooth Lake, there were several switchbacks and steep climbs with lots of beautiful views along the way. I stopped so often to take photos that I didn’t really notice how steep the climb was until I came across a few other hikers that were quite exhausted! As I got closer to Sawtooth Lake, there was quite a lot of snow on the trail. Much of the last half mile was on top of snow, but well packed enough to walk on top. When I reached Sawtooth Lake, there was a pretty good breeze, so I didn’t find a clear glassy lake for reflections, but it was still stunningly beautiful. The granite along the shoreline was spectacular, and I decided to feature it in this shot. I got down almost level with the water, where the rocks made a fantastic foreground. The shimmering lake surrounded by the majestic peaks in the background was quite an inspiration!
